1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently and to provide information to the owners of the site.
2. How We Use Cookies
We use browser storage for two limited purposes:
- Essential storage: Clerk authentication cookies and local browser storage required for sessions, security, consent choices, theme preferences, and basic product functionality.
- Optional analytics: After you allow analytics, PostHog measures page usage and product milestones, while Microsoft Clarity provides heatmaps and privacy-masked interaction recordings.
3. Managing Your Cookies
You can control and/or delete cookies as you wish. You can delete all cookies that are already on your computer and you can set most browsers to prevent them from being placed. However, if you do this, you may have to manually adjust some preferences every time you visit a site and some services and functionalities may not work.
Cookie Preferences
You can customize your cookie preferences for this website at any time.
4. Third-Party Cookies
Optional product analytics are provided by PostHog Cloud and Microsoft Clarity. PostHog client analytics exclude full page URLs, query strings, referrers, tested website URLs, and email addresses. Clarity may use analytics cookies and process page, browser, device, click, scroll, pointer-movement, and reconstructed interaction data after consent; sensitive input content is masked.
- PostHog: Used for consent-based page and product funnel analytics. You can withdraw consent at any time through Cookie Settings.
- Microsoft Clarity: Used for consent-based heatmaps and privacy-masked interaction recordings. Withdrawing analytics consent clears Clarity cookies and ends consent-based tracking.
5. More Information
Choosing Essential only does not prevent you from using Prerender Buddy. Authenticated server-side product milestones may still be recorded using a pseudonymous account identifier for service operation and aggregate funnel measurement; they do not include your email address, site domain, or tested URL.
