Work with Agent

Ask about your website, review a proposed action and follow approved background work.

On this page

Select the right context

Open Agent on Starter, Growth or Pro and select your website. Agent uses that website for follow-up questions, so you can ask “Did any AI crawlers visit today?” and then “Which page did they visit most?” without selecting it again.

Keep passwords, complete API keys and payment details out of messages. Connect publishing credentials through the website's Publishing settings instead.

Ask evidence-focused questions

Try “What needs attention on my website?”, “How did my business appear in the latest AI answers?” or “Suggest an article using my saved results.” Agent can explain available health findings, recorded crawler activity, AI answer evidence and article opportunities.

Saved results have dates and coverage. An answer about them does not start a fresh collection. Missing or incomplete evidence should be shown as unavailable or limited, rather than treated as a confirmed problem. A missing brand mention alone does not establish what caused it or justify a new article.

Review an action before it starts

For supported changes, Agent prepares a plan or asks for the confirmation it needs. Read the website, action and allowance before approving. Approved work can continue in the background after you close the page; follow its progress in the conversation and Agent Tasks.

Agent can help set up tracked questions, approved checking workflows and article work. For example, ask “Set up one article a month and save drafts for my review.” Review the publishing policy before activating it. A suggested plan has not run until the required permission is recorded.

Use Publishing Autopilot for recurring articles

Open Publishing Autopilot in Agent to choose Drafts only, Publish after review or Automatic publishing. Each mode has a different release permission. Set up Publishing Autopilot explains the controls, shared monthly limit and supported destinations.

Drafts only saves articles in PB. Publish after review waits for your approval of the exact finished version. Automatic publishing can release qualifying articles to supported CMS connections under your explicit, time-limited policy; it requires confirmed public business facts and recorded quality checks.

Know the boundary

Agent acts within approved plans, account allowances and publishing permissions. It does not have unrestricted control of your account, edit arbitrary website pages, repair DNS or start advertising campaigns. An action can wait for better evidence, a connection, article approval or available allowance.

Pause or turn off the relevant permission to stop further background content work. Work already running may finish. Changing a publishing policy requires a new review; deleting a conversation does not reverse completed actions or restore usage.

Use the right tool for an action

Manual controls remain available in the relevant feature. Read the article and calendar guide for article review and publication scheduling, and choose the publishing guide for your destination.

External assistants use their own MCP tools and permissions. The MCP guide explains public diagnostics, workspace evidence and confirmed draft generation. Article approval, delivery and scheduling also have separate scoped Developer API actions. An external MCP connection does not inherit your in-app Autopilot permission.
