Start with local public diagnostics
The PB MCP package runs as a local stdio process. Without a key it inspects public HTTP responses and discovery files. It does not execute JavaScript as a browser renderer or prove indexing, citation, or crawler identity.
Add scoped workspace access
Eligible users can create a narrowly scoped Developer API key and pass it to the trusted local process as PRERENDER_BUDDY_API_KEY. Do not paste keys into prompts, commit them, or expose them to browser code.
Know the read-only boundary
Workspace mode can return bounded sites, Health, crawler activity, AI Visibility, recommendations, and content-status evidence. It does not start checks or collections, clear cache, change questions, generate drafts, publish content, or manage campaigns. It is not a hosted PB MCP endpoint.
